Activated Charcoal (coconut)
Activated charcoal is used for digestive health and detoxification. It has a somewhat earthy flavor and turns smoothies black. We use ultrafine, food grade activated charcoal powder made from steam activated coconut shells.
Ashwagandha is an adaptogenic super root commonly used in Ayurvedic medicine to increase vitality, relieve stress and boost brain and cognitive function. Adaptogens help regulate the adrenal/hormonal response to environmental and emotional stressors. The taste of ashwagandha is earthy and slightly bitter and works well with cinnamon and dates (as in our Relax smoothie) or chocolate. Due to its potential effect on hormones, ashwagandha is not recommended during pregnancy.
A complete protein rich in vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids and antioxidants, bee pollen is used for improving mental alertness and helping concentration levels over an extended period of time. Studies have linked bee pollen and its compounds to health benefits such as decreased inflammation, improved immunity, menopausal symptom relief, improved liver health and wound healing. Bee pollen tastes similar to honey and works well as an acai or oat bowl topping or blended into any smoothie.
Cacao is the raw, unprocessed bean of the cacao plant. It contains the highest concentration of magnesium and antioxidants of any food on the planet. It contains a much higher amount of enzymes, minerals, and nutrients than cocoa powder (which is roasted at high temperatures). Hemp Protein Powder (organic)
Hemp provides an excellent source of easily digestible plant protein. Hemp protein powder contains all the essential amino acids your body needs. We use organic hemp protein powder that has been gently cold-processed, without the use of hexane, a harsh chemical solvent used to process non-organic soy protein powders.
Hemp Seeds (organic)
Hemp seeds are one of the world’s most nutritious seeds and one of the best sources of highly absorbable plant protein. Hemp seeds also contain all the essential amino acids and fatty acids necessary to maintain a healthy lifestyle. They are rich in healthy fats—with an ideal 3:1 ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids—which may benefit skin diseases and provide relief from eczema. Hemp seeds may also reduce symptoms associated with PMS and menopause, due to their high levels of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). Hemp seeds have a mild, slightly nutty flavor and are a tasty topping for salads, smoothie bowls, oats, or blended into any smoothie.
Maca Root Powder (organic)
Maca is a super root grown in the Andes mountains in Peru. It is used for enhanced energy and stamina, improved libido, hormonal balance and improved mood. Maca's pleasantly nutty and malty flavor works well with smoothies that contain chocolate, cinnamon and/or nut butters.
Matcha Green Tea (organic)
Matcha is a type of green tea grown in Japan. The young, shade-grown tea leaves are dried and then ground into a fine powder which dissolves in liquid. Matcha is packed with antioxidants—up to ten times the amount of other green teas. Studies have shown that matcha can boost metabolism and burn calories; detoxify the body and protect against disease; enhance mood and concentration; lower cholesterol and regulate blood sugar. While it contains about 60 mg of caffeine per teaspoon, the phytonutrients in matcha slow the absorption of the caffeine which prevents spikes and crashes and provides a longer term, calmer alertness.
MCT oil is a dietary supplement that is made up of medium-chain triglycerides. We use MCT derived from coconuts only. Some of the purported health benefits include: weight loss, increased energy and endurance, improved memory and brain function. MCT can be added to any smoothie or drink and is popular as a coffee boost.

Moringa leaf powder comes from the leaves of the moringa oleifera, a tree native to India, and has been used for centuries for its purported medicinal properties. Studies have shown that moringa may reduce cholesterol, help regulate blood sugar, reduce pain and help with constipation. Moringa leaf is shown to have anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and immune-boosting qualities, and may increase libido and promote weight loss. It is also rich in proteins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants, and flavonoids. Moringa has a leafy flavor similar to matcha tea, and works well blended in green smoothies.

To improve its bioavailability and absorption, turmeric should be consumed with a small amount of black pepper.
